【手沖咖啡濾杯分享】Origami Dripper mikage 沙釉限量版

[Hand-brewed coffee filter cup sharing] Origami Dripper mikage sand glaze limited edition

If you follow Origami, you will probably know its celebrated Origami Dripper range. I started using one a year or two ago and still reach for it several times every week. The reasons are straightforward: it is easy to brew with and delivers reliable extraction; it can double as a decorative object in the living room; I use it whenever I open new coffee beans because, paired with Kalita 155 filter papers, it produces remarkably consistent results; and it is easy to clean and durable. If I were recommending drippers, the Origami Dripper might arrive late, but it would never be absent.

The Origami Dripper also makes a compelling collectible

I suspect this brand will eventually lead me to the same place as my current Kalita collection: wanting every colour. I would like to collect coffee drippers and display them at home almost like a museum. I believe they add a welcome sense of occasion to daily coffee.

When Origami announced the limited “Origami Dripper Marble” edition, I immediately felt it belonged on my coffee list. The first time it went on sale online, I bought it as soon as the release time arrived. It sold out only a few hours later. I did not expect it to disappear so quickly, and afterwards many friends contacted me on Instagram to ask why they could not buy one or where it was available. I do not think anyone—including the brand—anticipated that level of demand.

Conclusion: Limited Origami Dripper Mikage in sand glaze / marble finish review

After waiting several weeks, mine finally arrived. I already own an Origami Dripper [S] in the same form, yet the sand-glaze finish—also described by some people as the marble version—looked exceptionally beautiful at first sight. It uses a traditional sand glaze and feels different from other Origami finishes, with a lightly uneven, textured surface. It does not feel exactly like stone, but the finish looks attractive in daylight or at night, indoors or outside.

Does the uneven, textured surface affect extraction? After using it for almost two months, I have not noticed a difference. Apart from its appearance, it performs like the other versions, and the brewed coffee tastes the same to me. I hope Origami introduces more products with this glaze. For anyone interested, it can certainly add a stronger sense of occasion to brewing coffee at home.

Finally, thank you for supporting the “Coffee Stage” online shop. By our second day of trading, many friends had already registered as members or purchased products. We are now preparing a second release after being fortunate enough to secure a small quantity of stock in Japan. We expect to list it in the online shop at 21:00 this Saturday. If you are interested, we would be grateful for your support.

I would also like to highlight an initiative that some readers may have missed: “Giving Back to Coffee”—our commitment to direct part of our monthly sales proceeds back into the coffee industry. Although we expect turnover to be modest, I would like to give one of these drippers away in October. We will publish details later, and I also hope to include other products and coffee beans to help more people discover coffee.
