Latest hands-on experience with Fellow coffee equipment
Hello everyone! This time, I have decided to share the coffee equipment I have been using during my mornings recently.
August was exceptionally busy. Alongside my full-time work, I had many other projects in preparation, leaving far less of my precious daily pour-over coffee time. If you asked me which coffee beans stood out in July and August, I honestly might not have an answer. During this period, I simply reordered familiar brands.

My priorities when brewing coffee during this period were speed, precision and simplicity, so I also used an electric grinder more often.
Recently, many of the tools I have been using have been Fellow products. Here is a brief account of my experience:

Fellow Tally Pro — a leading choice for precise weighing
Let us begin with Fellow’s new Tally Pro. This product made a strong impression on me, particularly its brew-ratio function. It is easy to use and especially suited to people who want precise control over ratios. For pet care, I found that the scale could also provide very precise measurements, even to several decimal places.

Fellow Stagg EKG PRO — a pour-over kettle balancing design and function
Next is Fellow’s Stagg EKG PRO pour-over kettle. It performs exceptionally well in both design and function. I was especially impressed by its automatic heating function when I used it on the second day; another Brewista kettle I previously used did not heat automatically.

As for the stream of water that many of you care about, I find it very stable, and it can produce a strong stream. This morning, however, I added nearly 1 litre of water, so the kettle was essentially full and close to overflowing. The excessive fill made the stream unstable. I later found that using a lower fill volume of 500-700ml gives a better stream. I still need some time to practise. I had barely used this Fellow Stagg EKG PRO before, so I will spend a few days regaining the feel for it and then report back.
One more thing: finally, a company offers a kettle that begins heating automatically when it is placed on the base, with an ON/OFF button to choose the setting. When I pour in stages, I do not have to think about placing it back each time, which lets me direct my attention elsewhere.
Fellow Stagg EKG PRO Temperature-Controlled Kettle product details:
Capacity:0.9 litres

Colour:Matte black, with an optional walnut handle and lid pull
Special feature:Temperature control

Fellow Shimmy coffeesifter— a new way to experience clean coffee flavour
I decided to try the Fellow Shimmy after being influenced by another coffee enthusiast. After the first use, I immediately understood what “clean” truly meant. It gave pour-over coffee a transparent, clear quality that was noticeably different from an ordinary cup.
The official instructions specify shaking for 30 seconds, but I find this greatly reduces the layers in the coffee’s flavour and makes it too “clean”. For now, 15 seconds is a better choice: it retains some complexity without losing clarity.

Origami dripper and pour-over kettle — a combination of design and style
The final piece of coffee equipment I recommend is from Origami. Although it is not a Fellow product, its design and finish are both excellent and worth trying.

Conclusion — choosing and using Fellow pour-over coffee equipment every day
After experimenting with and using these products for 1–2 months, I can confidently say that Fellow coffee equipment has brought new possibilities and quality to pour-over coffee. From the precise measurement of the Fellow Tally Pro and the convenience of the Fellow Stagg EKG PRO pour-over kettle to the clarity created by the Fellow Shimmy, each product has deepened my understanding and enjoyment of pour-over coffee.
If you are also a coffee enthusiast looking for equipment that is precise, well finished and convenient, Fellow products are certainly worth considering. I hope this account helps you move further along your pour-over coffee journey.
