Coffee equipment available to rent
Many of you have asked what equipment will be available, so I have spent the past few days putting together a list. Those just starting their coffee journey may be wondering what they need, especially as espresso equipment can be combined in so many different ways.
You may also want to steam milk and practise latte art at home. If you have had the same experience, you will know the limitations of milk frothers that cost only a few hundred dollars. Yet buying an espresso machine costing tens of thousands of dollars simply to try its steam wand is difficult to justify.

That is why I spent so much time deciding which of the following items to buy. Which ones would you most like to try? Choosing a starting point can be difficult, so here is the first group—the equipment I expect will interest the most people.

A phased launch for the rental programme
The coffee equipment rental programme above may begin as early as the start of 11. It will be introduced in three stages: espresso equipment first, followed by pour-over equipment and beginner pour-over sets, then home coffee roasters for anyone who would like to experience roasting at home.
Sharing and learning through coffee culture
I plan to record videos covering equipment that needs more involved operation or cleaning, along with other common guidance. We may also meet on Zoom on two evenings during the week to try the equipment together. This could suit anyone who cannot normally attend a pour-over class or would like to explore a particular piece of equipment with others.
I hope this brings us closer together. It is not intended as a highly technical course and differs from the professional classes available elsewhere, whose instructors are certainly more qualified than I am. Think of it as coffee enthusiasts sharing knowledge and practising brewing together. The idea is still being planned, so I will share more later. It may even continue through 2024 while I assess whether the Coffee Equipment Rental project is viable.
