The HARIO Mocha MCA-3 is a three-cup coffee siphon with a usable capacity of 360mL. Paper filters simplify everyday cleanup, while the clear heat-resistant glass makes it easy to observe the water rising, brewing and flowing back. It suits anyone who wants to practise siphon brewing at home.

The package includes the coffee siphon, an alcohol burner, a measuring spoon that also works as a stirrer, and 50 unbleached paper filters. Alcohol fuel is sold separately. The stand can also be used with the commercial gas burner listed by HARIO.

Specifications and Compatibility

Exact-fit replacement parts include the BU-MCA-3 upper bowl, BL-MCA-3 lower bowl and DS-type gasket. For paper filters, use the F-103MN filter holder with CF-103E paper filters. The F-103S metal filter holder can be paired with FS-103 filter cloth. MCA Series upper bowls, lower bowls and gaskets are not interchangeable with Technica Series parts.

Use, Cleaning and Safety

1. Add the desired amount of hot water to the lower bowl. Before the water boils, rest the upper bowl with its paper filter at an angle on the lower-bowl opening.
2. As the water approaches a boil, set the upper bowl upright. When the hot water rises, add the coffee grounds, then stir and steep according to your recipe.
3. At the end of the steep, remove the heat source. Wait for the coffee to flow back into the lower bowl, then remove the upper bowl.

Avoid excessive boiling or heating the lower bowl empty. If the water boils too vigorously, remove the heat source. Do not place hot glass on a wet cloth or cold surface, and do not cool it rapidly. Let every part cool before disassembly and washing. Stop using the siphon if the glass is cracked or chipped.
