Product Introduction

The HARIO Switch glass immersion dripper lets you choose how long the coffee grounds steep in hot water before opening the outlet to drain. Its transparent, heat-resistant glass bowl lets you watch the grounds steep and the brewed coffee drain.

Control steeping and draining with the switch

The Switch controls the outlet with a stainless steel ball at the base and a switch. Lift the switch to CLOSE to hold hot water in the dripper and steep the grounds. Press it down to the flat OPEN position to let coffee flow through the paper filter into the vessel below. The switch stays open, so draining continues after you release your finger.

Steeping first and draining afterwards separates immersion and filtration into two steps. If you leave the switch open before pouring, you can use it for pour-over coffee like a V60. To compare the two methods, use the same dripper and adjust the grind, pouring technique and steeping time.

Choosing between 200mL and 360mL

SSD-200-B has a practical capacity of 200 mL and uses V60 02 filters; SSD-360-B has a practical capacity of 360 mL and uses V60 03 filters. Both have the same switch mechanism; the difference is the size of the glass bowl. Choose the capacity for your usual brewing water volume, and choose 02 or 03 filters to match when buying more.

Both include 40 V60 paper filters. The bowl is made from HARIO heat-resistant glass, the holder from silicone, the switch from PCT resin and the ball inside the valve from stainless steel. HARIO lists both as made in Japan.

The 200 mL SSD-200-B uses V60 02 paper filters; the 360 mL SSD-360-B uses V60 03 paper filters. Check the filter size for your chosen capacity when buying more.

Use and Cleaning

Steep, then press to drain

  1. Wash before first use. Set the dripper securely on a server or brewing stand, fold the paper filter along its seam and place it in the dripper.
  2. Lift the switch to CLOSE, add the coffee grounds and pour in hot water to steep them.
  3. After steeping, gently press the switch to OPEN and let the coffee drain fully. Lift the switch again before your next brew.

HARIO’s example for the 200 mL model starts with approximately 2 minutes of steeping. Adjust this to suit the grind and your preference. For pour-over brewing, leave the switch in OPEN before pouring.

Cleaning and Storage

Wash with a soft sponge and neutral detergent, rinse thoroughly and let dry. Avoid steel wool, scouring powder or sponges containing abrasive particles. The glass dripper is dishwasher safe; position it according to your dishwasher instructions and keep the glass from knocking against other dishes.

When washing, pay attention to the joints between the silicone base, switch and stainless steel ball. The ball controls water retention and must remain in the correct position after cleaning.

Dispatch information

After payment is completed, we will deliver the item within 24 hours of the order collected on the working day. The product booking depends on the product replenishment time and is usually sent within 10-14 working days. If the product is booked for too long, guests can also apply for a refund from us within 15 working days from the date of purchase.

Shipping Information

All shipments are sent to "SF Express". Free shipping in Hong Kong (excluding remote areas or offshore islands) is allowed if the entire store spends an amount of HKD$500 or above. If the consumption amount is less than HKD$499, we will charge an additional HKD$30 as a shipping fee subsidy, without limiting quantity and weight. If you need to send it to another country or region, please contact us to discuss shipping methods. You can also choose to collect your goods from our Yuen Long Studio.

Exchange & Refund Policy

After receiving the goods, please check the contents of the goods immediately. If the customer finds the product damaged (excluding the packaging box) within 72 hours after the product is collected, and the damage is not caused by the customer, please contact the Coffee Stage as soon as possible to arrange the replacement.
