The HARIO Technica TCAR-3 is a three-cup coffee siphon with a usable capacity of 360mL. Its tall metal stand, heat-resistant glass upper and lower bowls, and flannel filter cloth let you observe the water rising, steeping and flowing back while adjusting flavour through heat, stirring and timing.

The package includes the coffee siphon, an alcohol burner, a measuring spoon and flannel filter cloth. Alcohol fuel is sold separately. The stand can also be used with the commercial gas burner listed by HARIO.

Specifications and Compatibility

Exact-fit replacement parts include the BU-TCA-3 upper bowl, BL-TCA-3 lower bowl, F-TCA-2-3 lid and ST-TCA-2-3 stand. The F-103S filter holder can be paired with FS-103 filter cloth. FS-103 is not for use with the F-103P or F-103M paper-filter holders. The BA-15 bamboo stirrer is sold separately and is not the measuring spoon included in the package.

Use, Cleaning and Safety

1. Before first use or when replacing the filter cloth, boil and wash the cloth as described in the instructions, then fit the filter into the upper bowl.
2. Add the desired amount of hot water to the lower bowl, fit the upper bowl and heat. When the hot water rises, add the coffee grounds, then stir and steep according to your recipe.
3. At the end of the steep, remove the heat source. Wait for the coffee to flow back into the lower bowl, then remove the upper bowl.

Avoid heating the siphon empty, cooling it rapidly or cleaning the glass with abrasive tools. The upper bowl, lower bowl and lid are dishwasher safe. Rinse the filter cloth with clean water immediately after use. If you plan to use it again soon, refrigerate the washed cloth submerged in clean water and change the water regularly.
