Product overview

Kalita Black TSUBAME WDS is made from 18-8 stainless steel, with a matte black coating that gives its metal outline a restrained presence on the counter. KB3 uses a wider handle with a clearly defined grip. Once brewing is complete, hold the handle to lift the dripper off your cup or server.

The Wave brewing space combines a flat coffee bed, a dedicated wavy filter and three drainage holes. The 20 waves in the filter reduce contact with the dripper sidewalls, while the flat base makes the grounds easier to level. Practise with the same dose, grind and pouring rhythm to compare the brewed coffee when you change a recipe.

The 155 size is for 1–2 people and the 185 for 2–4 people; both are made in Tsubame, Niigata, Japan. Choose 155 for regular single-cup brewing or 185 to share a larger brew. Match the filter to the dripper size: KWF-155 for 155 and KWF-185 for 185.

Use and cleaning

How to use

1. Insert a Wave filter matching the size, rinse with hot water and preheat the dripper and cup or server.
2. Add ground coffee, tap gently to level the bed and bloom according to your recipe.
3. Pour in stages, watching the total water amount and drainage speed.
4. Remove the dripper once you reach your target brewed amount.

Cleaning and storage

Hand-wash promptly after use with a soft sponge and neutral detergent. Rinse, then wipe dry immediately or allow to air-dry thoroughly. Avoid metal brushes, abrasive cleaners and prolonged soaking to protect the matte black surface.

Notes

• 155 and 185 use different filter sizes. Check the size when ordering.
• Impacts, friction or unsuitable cleaning may leave marks on the matte black surface.
