Kalita Drip Pot Slim 700 Pour-Over Kettle | SS, SSW, CU & CUW

Product introduction

The Drip Pot Slim 700 series combines a long, slender spout, a conical body and a full capacity of 700mL in a shared set of proportions. All four models are made in Japan and marked Made in TSUBAME. The main choices are a stainless steel or copper body, and a curved metal handle or a wood-look side handle.

The long, slender spout of Slim extends the water outlet over the coffee bed, letting you adjust your pouring rhythm through the angle of the pot. All four have the same full capacity; the differences are mainly material, handle profile and body weight. Start with your preferred grip position, then consider how the pot fits with your other equipment and worktop.

SS and SSW use 18-8 stainless steel, suited to those who like silver metal and durable everyday equipment. CU and CUW use copper, so the body heats up more readily when in contact with hot water. The curved metal handles of SS／CU continue the lines of the body, while the wood-look side handles of SSW／CUW place the grip at the side of the body and give the pot a shorter overall length.

Specifications

The stainless steel bodies of SS and SSW have a wall thickness of 0.6mm and a contact-base diameter of approx. 97mm. CUW also has a contact-base diameter of approx. 97mm.

Use and cleaning

Use water boiled separately for pour-over coffee. Before heating the pot, check the supplied instructions for suitable heat sources. If the instructions allow heating over an open flame, be aware that the handle will become hot. Avoid high heat, which can overheat the base of the spout and cause hot water to splatter. Fill to seven to eight tenths of capacity to avoid overflowing. The areas inside the copper pot that contact water, hot water and coffee have a plated surface. If verdigris appears, remove it with equal parts vinegar and salt using a soft cloth or sponge, then wash with a neutral dishwashing detergent and dry thoroughly.

For everyday cleaning, wash the body with a soft sponge and neutral dishwashing detergent, rinse and dry thoroughly. Avoid scratching the inner plating of copper models. Drain any remaining water from the spout before storing.
