Product overview
Kalita Jug catches pour-over coffee in a heat-resistant glass body with an integrated spout, handle and graduations. The coffee colour and level stay visible while you brew, and the same jug serves individual cups afterwards, making brewing and sharing one straightforward daily routine.
Clear Jug400 and Jug500 retain the transparent look of glass, while Jug 400 Amber adds an amber tone for those who prefer warmer-coloured equipment. Jug400 and Amber have lower profiles; Jug500 is taller. Consider the overall height, placement and how the dripper will be supported when choosing.
The graduations offer a quick view of the liquid level during brewing and serving. For precise recipe records, use a digital scale to weigh the brewed coffee. Place the jug steadily before brewing, remove the dripper when finished, then hold the handle to pour into cups.

Use and cleaning
Heat-resistant glass withstands temperature differences but is not toughened glass, so impacts can still break it. Do not heat it over an open flame or in an oven, or heat it empty. While the glass is hot, avoid adding cold water, touching it with a wet cloth or placing it on a cold, wet surface. Wash with dishwashing detergent and a soft sponge, then dry thoroughly.

I’ve been using this sharing cup for my single-origin filter coffee, and it has genuinely enhanced the drinking experience. The wide, flared shape seems to concentrate and amplify the coffee’s aroma, making each sip more expressive. I also find that the coffee tastes noticeably sweeter, with better clarity and balance.
The deep blue glaze is beautiful and gives the cup a handcrafted, premium feel. It’s comfortable to hold, and the size is just right for enjoying a carefully brewed cup of coffee. A wonderful piece for anyone who enjoys specialty coffee and appreciates ceramics that combine aesthetics with functionality.
