Product overview
Kalita MI155 combines the flat base and three holes of the Wave design with Mino ware ceramic. Sized for 1–2 people, it suits an everyday single-cup brew. All five colours share the same 155 size; choose by the glaze colour and texture, and how it pairs with your server and coffee cups.
The flat-bottom filter makes the coffee bed easier to level. Hot water meets the grounds in the flat brewing area, then drains through the three holes in the base. The matching Wave filter has 20 waves that reduce contact with the dripper sidewalls. Together, the coffee bed, filter and drainage path offer a setup for practising pouring rhythm with a consistent recipe.
MI155 is made in Dachi, Toki, Gifu, Japan. The Mino ware ceramic has a substantial feel in the hand; rinse the filter with hot water and preheat the dripper before brewing. Sand Beige, Sand Grey, Sand Brown and Sand Black offer muted tones, while Gloss Brown has a glossy finish. Variations in glaze colour and small speckles are natural results of ceramic firing.

Use and cleaning
How to use
- Insert a KWF-155 filter, rinse with hot water and preheat the ceramic dripper at the same time.
- Discard the preheating water from the server or cup, add ground coffee and tap gently to level the bed.
- Follow your recipe for blooming and staged pours, keeping the water stream within the coffee bed.
- Remove the dripper once you reach your target brewed amount.
Cleaning and storage
After use, let the dripper cool, wash with a soft sponge and neutral detergent, then air-dry completely. Avoid metal brushes, strong impacts and sudden temperature changes.
Notes
- Glaze colour, small speckles and texture may vary slightly between ceramic pieces.
- Ceramic has some weight. Make sure your cup or server supports the dripper steadily before brewing.
- Dimensions and weights are reference values; the actual product takes precedence.

I’ve been using this sharing cup for my single-origin filter coffee, and it has genuinely enhanced the drinking experience. The wide, flared shape seems to concentrate and amplify the coffee’s aroma, making each sip more expressive. I also find that the coffee tastes noticeably sweeter, with better clarity and balance.
The deep blue glaze is beautiful and gives the cup a handcrafted, premium feel. It’s comfortable to hold, and the size is just right for enjoying a carefully brewed cup of coffee. A wonderful piece for anyone who enjoys specialty coffee and appreciates ceramics that combine aesthetics with functionality.
