The SS Kettle 700 has an 18-8 stainless steel body, lid and base, with a long, slender spout for pour-over coffee. Its full capacity is 700mL, suited to those who want a stainless steel pot and prepare hot water for each recipe.

Stainless steel is less prone to rust and resists deformation, making it suitable for repeated everyday use. This model retains a silver metal finish, with a wall thickness of 0.6mm and a contact-base diameter of approx. 82mm. Consider both capacity and where you will place it, keeping the amount of brewing water within a range that is comfortable to hold.

The long, slender spout brings the water outlet close to the coffee bed. Begin with a slight tilt, then adjust the flow to your recipe. To practise pouring in stages, start with a consistent fill level and pouring height, and observe how the tilt affects the start and end of each pour.

Use and cleaning

Full capacity is not the recommended fill level. Leave space when using the pot to reduce overflowing hot water. Use water boiled separately for pour-over coffee. Before heating the pot, check the supplied instructions for suitable heat sources. If the instructions allow heating over an open flame, be aware that the handle will become hot. Avoid high heat, which can overheat the base of the spout and cause hot water to splatter. Fill to seven to eight tenths of capacity to avoid overflowing.

Once the body has cooled, wash with a soft sponge and neutral dishwashing detergent, rinse and dry thoroughly. Drain the spout before storing and keep the inside of the pot dry.
