Introduction

HARIO Cafe Press U brews by immersion: ground coffee and hot water sit together in the server, then the filter is pressed down slowly to keep the grounds at the bottom. With ground coffee and hot water ready, you can brew using steeping time to set your coffee-making pace.

The stainless steel filter replaces paper filters, allowing coffee oils through with the brewed coffee. A black polypropylene frame and handle surround the glass server, and the lid knob connects to the filter shaft. Hold the handle to serve after brewing.

The 300mL model is for 2 cups and the 600mL model for 4 cups. Both have a 90mm opening; the larger model mainly adds height and practical capacity. Choose 300mL for smaller everyday batches or 600mL for sharing. If a double filter and stainless steel frame are your priorities, compare Harior 7.

Use and cleaning

1. Wash the server and filter first, add ground coffee and the hot water specified in your recipe, then fit the lid and leave the filter at the top while steeping.
2. HARIO’s press-brewing demonstration uses approximately 3 minutes as a guide. Adjust steeping time to the coffee and recipe you use.
3. Place the server on a stable surface, keep the filter shaft vertical and press down slowly and steadily, then pour the coffee from the spout.
4. After use, empty the grounds and separate the filter assembly to rinse out residue between the parts. Wash with a soft sponge and neutral detergent. Dishwasher safe. Do not heat the glass server over an open flame.
