Introduction

HARIO Woodneck holds ground coffee in a cotton flannel filter. Hot water is poured from above, and the brewed coffee passes through the cloth directly into the glass server. It keeps the pouring action of pour-over coffee and suits those who want to try a reusable cloth filter and are willing to wash and refrigerate it after each brew.

The fine cotton cloth forms a soft coffee bed. First wet the grounds evenly, then pour hot water slowly in stages. The pouring rhythm is a key control in this method. After washing, keep the cloth submerged in clean water in the refrigerator to reduce oxidation of coffee oils left on the fabric.

The acacia wood collar gives you a place to grip the glass server, with a leather cord securing the wood. The 240mL／1–2-cup model suits smaller batches, while the 480mL／3–4-cup model prepares more coffee. Both brew through cloth; capacity and server size are the main choices.

Use and cleaning

1. Keep the clean cloth filter damp before use, open it out and place it back in the holder. Check that the holder rests securely on the server opening.
2. Add ground coffee, wet the coffee bed evenly with a little hot water, then pour slowly in stages, letting the coffee pass through the cloth into the server.
3. Empty the grounds promptly after brewing and rinse the cloth thoroughly with clean water. Then keep it submerged in a container of clean water in the refrigerator.
4. Clean the glass server with a soft sponge. Avoid soaking the wooden collar and leather cord for long periods, and wipe them dry after cleaning.
