Automatic needle distribution
Autospin has no separate start button. Set the tool steadily on a compatible portafilter and it begins automatically on contact with the basket. Lift it to stop early, or allow the preset cycle to finish. Alternating forward and reverse movement is intended to reduce the tendency of one rotation direction to push coffee grounds toward the edge of the basket.
12 fine 0.3 mm needles and a planetary path
Twelve fine needles sweep the coffee bed in a fixed planetary path, reaching approximately 22 mm deep. This structure is suited to breaking up clumps formed after grinding before tamping and to organising coffee distribution. Extraction will still be affected by the coffee, grind size, dose, basket, tamping and espresso-machine settings.
Four-point support and an open top
The four-point support keeps the tool level on standard 58 mm straight-wall baskets, while providing basic protection for the needles when it is placed on the counter. The open top lets you observe the internal rotation directly. Do not pour coffee grounds into the tool from the top, as this may affect the motor.
How to use
- Add freshly ground coffee to a compatible 58 mm straight-wall basket.
- Rest Autospin’s four-point support steadily on the edge of the basket and make sure the tool is not tilted.
- The tool automatically begins its forward-and-reverse distribution cycle on contact.
- When the cycle is complete, lift the tool, then level, tamp and extract according to your recipe.
Compatibility
- Compatible: standard 58 mm straight-wall baskets.
- Not compatible: baskets with curved inner walls.
- Not compatible: three-lug portafilters.
- Before purchase, check the inner-wall shape of the basket and portafilter construction. “58 mm” alone does not mean every portafilter is compatible.

Charging and indicator lights
- White: powered on or charging complete.
- Orange: charging.
- Off: powered off.
- If unused for a long period, the manufacturer recommends charging the battery once every three months.
Cleaning and care
After use, clear coffee grounds from the needles and body with an air blower, soft brush or dry cloth. Do not rinse or submerge the body. Before cleaning or replacing spare needles, make sure the tool has stopped. The needles are fine and sharp; avoid impact or directly touching their tips during storage and cleaning.
Frequently asked questions
Can every 58 mm portafilter be used?
No. Diameter alone is not enough. This tool requires a 58 mm straight-wall basket and does not support baskets with curved inner walls or three-lug portafilters.
Do I still need to tamp after distribution?
Yes. Autospin is for breaking up clumps and organising the coffee bed; after its cycle, you still need to level and tamp according to your espresso recipe.
Can it guarantee elimination of channelling?
A distribution tool can help reduce clumps and uneven distribution, but cannot guarantee an extraction outcome on its own. Grind size, dose, tamping, basket, brewing pressure and coffee condition are all important.
Cautions
- Do not pour coffee grounds into the tool through the open top.
- Do not rinse, submerge or charge the tool while it is wet.
- The needles are sharp. Keep them away from children and take care of your fingers during use, cleaning and replacement.
- Do not force use if the basket depth is incompatible with the 22 mm needles.
- A charging cable is not included.

Delivery needs to be informed
After payment is completed, we will deliver the item within 24 hours of the order collected on the working day. The product booking depends on the product replenishment time and is usually sent within 10-14 working days. If the product is booked for too long, guests can also apply for a refund from us within 15 working days from the date of purchase.
Delivery information
All shipments are sent to "SF Express". Free shipping in Hong Kong (excluding remote areas or offshore islands) is allowed if the entire store spends an amount of HKD$500 or above. If the consumption amount is less than HKD$499, we will charge an additional HKD$30 as a shipping fee subsidy, without limiting quantity and weight. If you need to send it to another country or region, please contact us to discuss shipping methods. You can also choose to collect your goods from our Yuen Long Studio.
Exchange/refund policy
After receiving the goods, please check the contents of the goods immediately. If the customer finds the product damaged (excluding the packaging box) within 72 hours after the product is collected, and the damage is not caused by the customer, please contact the Coffee Stage as soon as possible to arrange the replacement.
